@realfoodgangstas Adrenal Cocktail


This little concoction has been a lifesaver for me over the past few months, so I thought I'd share it with you. Firstly, if you don't follow @realfoodgangstas, you should go do that right now. Their page is full of easy to digest information about using food to restore health and it's where I first stumbled upon the adrenal cocktail. I've since tried a few other recipes from

different sources, and it's the simplest,

most palatable and most effective one

that I've found.


This particular recipe provides the body with approximately 375mg Potassium, 460mg Sodium and 60mg whole food Vitamin C. Basically (very, very basically), this combination nourishes the adrenals by ensuring the body has enough Vitamin C function effectively during times of stress, as well as preventing an electrolyte imbalance (which can lead to decreased adrenal function) by providing a balanced amount of Potassium and Sodium.


During times of stress you can drink the cocktail twice a day, at around 10am and 2pm. To feel the benefits it's important that you're eating regularly, and well, before adding the cocktail into your day.


120ml fresh squeezed orange juice

250ml coconut water

1/4 tsp sea salt


Simply mix the ingredients together and enjoy!
