Have a question?
Most of your queries can be answered below but if you have any other questions just send us through an email.

Stay hydrated before, during and after your sauna to get the most out of your session. Please bring your own water bottle to each session, we have an alkaline water filter in reception if you need a refill and also have cold drinks available for purchase if you forget your bottle.
Please bring a full size towel to sit on and a hand towel to wipe off with throughout your session. We can provide extra towels at a cost of $3 if you happen to forget yours.
We recommend wearing as little as possible during your session so that you receive maximum benefit from the infrared rays, just remember to sit on a towel at all times.
We do not have showers on site - showering immediately after your session halts the detoxification process and prevents you from getting the most out of your session. We will give you a cool towel to freshen up with and recommend packing some loose clothing to change into afterwards and showering once you get home. Or head down to the beach for a refreshing post-sauna dip!
Limit the amount of personal care products you use before your session - moisturisers, oils and fragrances can block pores and inhibit sweating.
Bring along a book or magazine to read during your session, or plug your phone in and listen to some music, a meditation or a good podcast - we can also provide a tablet in each room with Netflix and Spotify, just ask when you arrive.
The infrared wavelength is part of the sun’s invisible spectrum of light, located next to the colour red and felt as warmth. Not to be confused with UV and other potentially harmful rays, infrared heat is safe and healing - so safe in fact that it is used by hospitals to keep newborns warm in humidicribs. Infrared rays are easily absorbed and penetrate the body deeply, stimulating the lymphatic, immune and cardiovascular systems and helping to eliminate any harmful toxins that may have built up inside.
The main difference between infrared saunas and traditional steam saunas is the way that they heat. Traditional saunas heat air inside the sauna which then goes on to heat the body from the outside in, whereas infrared saunas heat the body directly. This not only penetrates much deeper, but also prevents that stuffy feeling of a traditional sauna and allows you to absorb the healing heat for a longer period of time.

Sunlight exposure is essential to human existence. We need the ultraviolet light (UV) spectrum from sunlight to produce vitamin D, and just as important is the infrared light (IR) spectrum from sunlight for things like our circadian rhythm, which helps to regulate our sleep cycles.
These days, many people spend most of their time indoors - artificial light bulbs have become the main source of light exposure for humans, and our natural exposure to UV and IR is limited. This creates a knock-on effect on our health and provides the opportunity for disease to grow.
Red light therapy (RLT), also known as photobiomodulation, or low-level light therapy (LLLT) is a LED therapy light that utilises near-infrared light treatment in combination with red LED light to activate your cells to perform optimally. This precise combination of wavelengths promotes tissue repair, hair growth, skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines, collagen production, hormone balance and cellular energy and repair.
This non-invasive treatment has been dubbed the 'fountain of youth' and its light therapy treatments seem to have no bounds when it comes to alleviating and supporting a range of medical conditions.
Red Light Therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation, is the process of the human body using light to initiate a change in the body (similar to photosynthesis in plants). This stimulates the mitochondria (these produce energy for our cells) causing them to work more efficiently which, in turn, boosts cellular regeneration. As we age and as we are exposed to sunlight less regularly, the mitochondria produce less energy - regular Red Light Therapy counteracts this.
Chromotherapy is built in to each infrared sauna at Wildfire Wellness, and is included in the session free of charge.
Chromotherapy uses a wide range of colours and mostly affects mental health, mood and emotions, whilst Red Light Therapy uses red light and near infrared to provide physical benefits to the skin and body.
Our Red Light Therapy towers are integrated into Saunas 1 and 2. If you book red light therapy with your infrared sauna session, the red light will be turned on for the first 20 minutes of your 40 minute session.
Our intro offer and new memberships (launching soon) include both infrared sauna and red light therapy. If you prefer to pay as you go or purchase a prepaid package, you can add red light therapy to any session for $20.
You will need to bring a full sized towel to sit on, and we also recommend bringing a hand towel to wipe off with throughout your session. We have towels available for hire if you forget yours.
We recommend waiting for your body to cool down naturally after your session before showering (around 20-30 minutes), therefore we don't have showers on site. The infrared sauna causes a rise in your core temperature which lingers post-session, meaning your metabolism is still firing and you're still reaping the benefits of your session whilst you cool down. As soon as you step into a cool shower you put a stop to this process, so giving yourself 20-30 minutes before showering just means you're feeling the benefits of your session for that little bit longer.
If you absolutely must cool down immediately after your session, we recommend heading down to the beach for an invigorating post-sauna dip!
You will find that most infrared sauna studios recommend waiting to shower, regardless of if they have showers on site or not.
Because near infrared light has a beneficial effect on the area surrounding the eyes, experts believe specialised protective goggles are not required as long as you do not stare at the LEDs for an extended period of time.
If you find the bright light uncomfortable, feel free to wear sunglasses or close your eyes for the red light portion of your session.
Each session time is 50 minutes. This is broken down into 40mins in the sauna plus an extra 5 mins to change before and after your sweat. Adhering to this timing means that we are able to spend ample time cleaning and preparing each sauna in between use.
If you add red light therapy to your infrared sauna session, the red light will be turned on for the first 20 minutes of your 40 minute session.
