There are three main reasons that we began using and continue to use the infrared sauna regularly:
- the first and main reason we use the infrared sauna is for its ability to detoxify. The environmental toxins that we encounter on a day to day basis mean that the average persons toxic load is huge. We can lower this by switching to more natural personal care products, eating organic, drinking spring water and ditching pharmaceuticals where possible, but this only does so much - so in order to thrive, we must physically detox our bodies.
- the infrared sauna's ability to calm a restless mind is another big factor in our regular use. It's easy to lose yourself in the busyness of our modern world, and the sauna provides us with 40 minutes to switch off and sweat it out. The infrared increases production of the happy hormones; dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin and decrease levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which is why you always get out feeling amazing!
- we have also experienced noticeable benefits to our skin, and this has only increased since the addition of the red light therapy towers. Infrared rays are said to penetrate the skin deeply and increase collagen and elastin production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leaving skin glowing.
