Infrared Sauna & Laser Tattoo Removal
If, like us, you are in the process of having a tattoo removed, we feel your pain! Something that took half an hour to create, now takes multiple, incredibly painful (and expensive) sessions to remove.
In our quest to remove our tattoos as quickly as possible, we did a bit of research into the process and what we found was super interesting!
Firstly, laser tattoo removal doesn't actually erase the tattoo. The powerful laser actually shatters the ink particles, which are then removed from your body via the lymphatic system. You can assist this process by supporting the lymphatic system with things such as light exercise, dry brushing, lymph supporting herbs and sessions in the infrared sauna.
Second, the location of the tattoo can affect how quickly it is able to be removed - the further away from the heart, the more sessions will likely be required. Also, sessions are spaced 6-8 weeks apart (or more) because the body will continue to eliminate ink during this time and the tattoo will continue to fade.
There are currently no regulations around tattoo removal in NSW, which means it's super important to see a reputable clinician who knows what they are doing! Experience means less pain, less chance of scarring, and you're tattoo being removed in the least amount of sessions possible. I personally see Troels at Paramount Tattoo Removal and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone considering removing a tattoo.
I've had three laser tattoo removal sessions with Troels (working on the above tattoo) and in between sessions I use the infrared sauna 2 or 3 times a week, and the results speak for themselves!
If you are considering having a tattoo removed, or are currently going through the process, we highly recommend combining your treatment with infrared sauna use. Not only will you be reaping the benefits of regular sessions in the sauna, you'll also be saving yourself time and money on laser tattoo removal!
